“Vertical/horizontal Intérieur/extérieur”

I guess lots of people have already known her.
Françoise Huguier is a passionate traveller, she shot advertises (Mugler, Lanvin, Lacroix), award winning photographer such as World Press Photo (1993), des Rencontres internationales de la photographie d’Arles (1987), KODAK (1986), shooting photos, making off, posters for lots of movies.
On November 2- 12, 2013 she visits my town, Bandung, Indonesia to make exhibition with the title “Vertical/horizontal Intérieur/extérieur”

“Vertical/Horizontal,Interior/Exterior.Singapore –Kuala Lumpur –Bangkok , devoted to the middle classesin South-East Asia.

This large-scale project which I began in Singapore one year ago fascinates me and did not release me since: it is about a study in closed door of the middle classes of three capitals of the South- East Asia, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok, registered in the modernity, but about which we speak little or badly. Why the middle class? Because she is there majority and because it is the cement of these multicultural and multiethnic societies because of the history of these three countries.
I go to meet these women and these men who contribute to the process of modernization which transforms all the South-East Asia and which also benefit from it. My rule did not vary since I carry between my hands a camera; commit an exploration without exoticism, an exploration which requires of time, exercising a patient and curious eye, especially without empathy what here would rhyme in nothing. This long-term work is a project of future, a work of report anchored in the présent, the glance for future

Personally, i see how talented she is. She definitelly knows how to play depth of field, composition, great tones, playing low light, and of course she is a great story teller.

For everyone who havent seen her works, i hope you can visit Gallery Soemardja, Bandung, Indonesia, because tomorrow is her last day in the town. After Bandung, she will make road show to Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Malang.

So, what are you waiting for?
